About ISMAX2025

Welcome to ISMAX2025, the 3rd International Symposium on Meta-AI for X, a cornerstone event dedicated to advancing the dynamic partnership between KAIST and New York University.

Building upon the significant strides made during the inaugural ISMAX events in 2023 and 2024, which successfully fostered and strengthened the collaborative ties between our institutions, ISMAX2025 is poised to transition these efforts into more substantial, actionable outcomes.

This year's symposium will elevate our collaboration by focusing on the strategic planning of practical, large-scale international joint research projects. We aim to move beyond foundational discussions to architecting ambitious research endeavors that leverage the unique strengths of both KAIST and NYU in areas such as metaverse technologies, generative AI, and human-computer interaction.

A critical component of this vision involves progressing in-depth deliberations on establishing Master's and PhD dual degree programs. These programs are meticulously designed to cultivate a new generation of globally-minded researchers and innovators, equipped to lead in these rapidly evolving fields and to embody the spirit of our joint academic excellence.

To support these ambitious goals, ISMAX2025 will continue to serve as a pivotal platform for:

  • Advancing the formation of international joint research teams and the initial preparation of collaborative research projects. The focus will be on translating shared expertise in areas such as metaverse systems and interactive AI into tangible project proposals with clear objectives for societal and industrial impact, laying a robust foundation for future large-scale endeavors.
  • Conducting advanced KAIST-NYU networking tests, ensuring robust, low-latency, and seamless transcontinental research collaboration, which is fundamental for shared virtual environments and distributed experiments.
  • Envisioning the MetaMuseum project through combining ongoing researches and real-world viability verification, highlighting its tangible impact as an advanced testbed for joint research in digital heritage, immersive experiences, and AI-driven content generation.

ISMAX2025 is more than a symposium; it is a catalyst for forging profound and lasting connections, facilitating intensive knowledge exchange, and laying the concrete groundwork for transformative and enduring collaborative projects between KAIST and NYU. We look forward to your active participation in shaping this exciting future of international research and education.
